Affordance
A cue in an object’s form that suggests how it can be used — a handle invites pulling, a button invites pressing.
In practice
In interface design, affordances are perceived as much as they are real. A raised control looks pressable; a text field looks editable. Strong affordances reduce learning cost; weak or false ones create hesitation and error.
